For today's self love birthday month challenge, I'm appreciating my skin

For today's self love birthday month challenge, I'm appreciating my skin. Years ago I learned of the Rainbow Tribe and the new wave of consciousness We and others like us are ushering in for our world. When I noticed how my skin sparkles in the sun awhile afterward, I considered this a cool and sci-fi - ish factor. My DNA is a blend of both hemispheres. European, African, and Native American, mostly. My melanin craves sun and at times like now when the sun finally returns in spring, I lay in his embrace for hours, feeling my skin tingle and absorb solar energy. There is a story from when I...

For my daily self love birthday month challenge

For my daily self love birthday month challenge... Today I love my intensity. For so many years I tried to tone it down, not take up so much space, not freely express my individuality, power, intelligence and magic, because I didn't want to frighten anyone or make them uncomfortable. One thing years have given me is a knowledge of how to Gentle my edges so I can come through with the same passion, without being abrasive. Humility helps with that too. And authentic heart transmutes it. Grounding is a pre requisite. I've always been intense. Intense emotions, intense mind, intense voice,...

Today begins a brand new journey, if we let it. Mercury leaves trickster retrograde while Taurus starts a private Moon journey - the entire 2018 Taurus time is neatly tucked into one Moon cycle. I'm pretty excited about this, especially as my birthday lands right on the Full Moon. I'll be taking these next few weeks as an opportunity to level up. My next phase of being an eternal Beloved to this whole planet is calling me. Starting from within, as all growing things do, I've pledged to focus on self love each day. Either love I have for myself, or ways that I love to Be uniquely me. Love...

My teacher graduated me early since I'll be gone for work next week. This has been a truly extraordinary, transformational experience. And now I am officially available for private or semi-private yoga instruction, just sayin. Maybe I'll be teaching at a studio eventually, but for the moment, this is it.

In honor of being a day late (but not a dollar short, thankfully) in sending a Father's Day gift to my Pop, Bernie Englert, I'm reposting a great photo I shot of him last Thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful Father's Day. Your gift from me should arrive on Tuesday, I think. Sunday I'm wrapping up my class and heading to the airport for a super-early flight Monday to Vancouver, but you'll be on my mind. Stay well and I'll see you when I get back and life calms down a bit.

Another hurdle completed: 20 hours credit of anatomy for yoga teachers, toward my 200-hour yoga teacher's training. I feel like I need to read the book (and all the others) again and again because there's so much to know and remember, so much value that has not yet sunk in. This weekend is the last for our class, and it's bittersweet knowing I won't be seeing all these wonderful friends every week anymore. Of course we will remain connected (looking forward to that book club for sure) and it is my fondest wish to attend classes led by each one in the coming months. I'm so bummed I'll be out...
